Food and memory

Is there a link between food and memory, Yes I say!
I drank 'Peak' milk this morning and a memory hit me almost immediately…when I fell ill, as a kid, mum was always ready with a can of 'Peak' milk! It felt like I was transported back in time as I took a sip of the thick creamy smooth milk this morning. I had almost forgotten how good it tastes!
Are they some foods/drinks that bring fond or 'better to forget' memories to you?
It must have been really hard for Jesus' listeners (especially those who only heard verse 56 ff) to fathom what he meant when he said..."Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him."(John 6v56). The Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" (See Verse 52). Jesus is also referred to as the Word (In the beginning was the word..John 1) and He shed his blood on Calvary for sinful man.
The issue therefore is not indulging in some ignorant act of mysticism, but rather to receive Jesus the Word (meditating on it, to both internalize and put it into practice Joshua 1v8) and accept His sacrifice on Calvary (hand him over the reins of your life and accept his role as the lamb of God, the perfect sacrifice for all your sins).
The food link would have made the early disciples remember he said this.
..and as Jesus said, "What I say to you, I say to everyone: 'Watch!'" John 13v37
Watch indeed,
