Banking on temporal

Hi all,

A colleague was sharing with me how his friend lost over £10,000 (about 10,000,000 CFA) when his bank closed down.
In the Cameroonian context, that is worth a lot of years in savings!

Around the same period, another acquaintance related the death (probably due to a heart attack) of a landlord
whose property was destroyed by the town authorities in a bid to re-model the town.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:21 that where our treasure is, there our hearts will be also.

We can either choose to bank on the temporal (which has a life span) or
on the Eternal (true relationship with Christ and a promise of Eternity in heaven).

When life as we know it comes to an end. When the Creator calls you, how much you know/knew or have/had wouldn't matter.
Your popularity, achievements, arguments and connections won't help. Jesus said I am the WAY, the Truth and the Life.

Follow this way that leads to eternity.

Don't treat the Earth as if this was your permanent abode!

Enjoy the rest of October and focus on Eternity...that is where you will be in the future.

Inno

Our Children, Their Children, God's Children

Everytime I see a child,
Mine or not
Clean or unkempt
Sad or happy
White or black (whoever coined these words!)

My heart  leaps
The peace that flows from them
As they look up to their guide
For instruction on the things of these life.

I weep silently
As I contemplate the foolishness
As I see the lack of true leadership
As I discern the lack of the fear of the Lord
In those who are supposed to bring them up.

But look, you won't go free
Jesus cares for His own
You will give account..like it or not

HEAVEN

I have less than 10 days with the BHC in Yaounde.
It is all mind blogging, I have been here for over 5 years now.
I have built relationships, shared tears and happiness...
It's been a time of learning and growth as I have seen my God
Take me from one step to the other by His grace.

In less than 2 weeks, I will no more thread this familiar road.
I will miss the sound of the server room and probably it's offer of quietness.
I will miss my desk, overcrowded with bits from my 5 year period.
I will miss the people I have come to call friends
But yet, I must go.

Is this how we depart?
When life as we know it comes to an end?
When the saviour calls and we need to go home?
Why then do we treat earth as if this was our permanent abode?

Fix your eyes on that which never perishes..HEAVEN
