Youth Ablaze
Luke 19:26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
Mathew 7:13
The NORMAL condition of any youth and Christian (Jesus' follower) Is being Hot, ablaze, on FIRE. That is why the word lukewarm (Rev 3:16) occurs only once in the bible.
1. Introduction
2. Properties of fire
Recently Australia experienced a loss of more than
150 lives in a fire incidence.
Fire helps us cook, keeps us warm and accomplish
many things. The unique property in Fire that makes it useful, is not is color or look, but rather it's ability to generate heat i.e. IT IS HOT!
Fire feeds on oxygen to grow. Cut it's oxygen and it will die.
3. Some statistics: From the Joshua Project website
As of Friday the world population was estimated at 6,725,593,220
Cameroon
has a population of over 18 million people (some sources put this figure at 20 million).
There has been over
16.4 million births since the beginning of this year 7.270.559 deaths
Adolescents (< 15)
alone make up more than 1.8 billion of world population
Top causes for death
; Cardiovascular, Cancer, STD/HIV/AIDS , Respiratory infection, traffic diseases, suicides , malaria and topping everything Abortion , (estimated at 4,958,320 twice the number of those that die from Cardiovascular diseases)!
Who is aborting, topping the chart on suicides and suffering from
STDS/HIV/AIDS? The youth!
The devil's strategy destroy the youth.. And when he can't do that, CUT off
their supply of oxygen. Keep them lukewarm!
4. A Youth/Christian is on Fire when (s)he is
1- Connected (Is a disciple of Jesus, obeys the Lord, and grows in fellowship and the word) 2- Authentic (Is light and salt. A city built on a hill. A witness Mathew 28:19) 3- An Agent of Transformation (A servant who seeks and knows the masters will/heart and lives for it. Pleasing his master is his ultimate focus and delight. Spiritual maturity)
If we really are going to be on fire, then we need to start out by dying to our own-selves. We need the 3 Ds -Discipline, Devotion and Determination
.
The world today is
loaded with options , which more often than not have hidden agendas to distract us from the narrow way. TV, PC games, Play station. Sin is now called a genetic tendency and parents get locked up for chastising their wayward children.
More common to see a
Youth in a Taxi bragging about his 'immoral' exploits in a nightclub than to find a youth talking about Jesus with the same confidence to friends. Recently, hundreds of youths stormed the congress hall and Foire, under the banner of Promote / Foire 2008 . Christians actively selling their faith were almost no where to be found! The world is presently going through times of financial crisis, wars, rumors of wars, natural disasters, heightened immorality as corrupt artists, Atheist, homosexuals and a host of satan's armies seek to push his agenda down the throat of our brothers and sisters. The media actively promotes the world agenda and many seek to be politically correct rather than Holy.
Do we remain cold, lukewarm and at best underachievers as the unholy fire of Compromise, laziness and pride burns on?
"The god of the world is riches, pleasure, and pride, wherewith it abuses all the creatures and gifts of God". Martin Luther in Luther Table talk.
"...God ... has left men in a darkness from which they can escape only through Jesus Christ, without whom all communion with God is cut off..." Blaise Pascal in Pensees.
5. What we need to do
Youth : Do not compromise! Do not be lukewarm ( A normal Christian should be HOT)! Let your heat beat at the same rhythm with God's - SOULS
Parents: Are we parents or service providers? Children/youth learn
from us. What are we promoting?
The Church: At least 80% became born-again under 30! Are we investing correctly/wisely?
Men worth mentioning Keith Green: Joseph (Book of Genesis) : Adolescent who preaches in the streets: Youths in London, preaching in the street
In Conclusion If you do ordinary things, you get ordinary results. The only way we can
achieve extraordinary results is by going the extra mile. The bible and you. The Holy Spirit (determine to hear his voice).
Don't get distracted. Go the extra mile in prayer, fasting, witnessing and living up
the Gospel. To him who has more will be given.

Three Ps
| Hi, Amidst the crisis the world is experiencing today, lies a ray of hope! Remember Hopeless when taken apart simply means LESS HOPE! Whom/What we put our hope in determines our outcome. God (revealed through His Son Jesus) or Gold? The choice is yours. Recent happenings seem to validate the falacy of trusting in one's possessions, prestige and position. In a time when Israel had stopped being the wonderful alien, whose illustrous son Joseph had helped Egypt (through a vision given by God to Pharoah and Interpreted by Joseph), avert famine (they didn't have special UN missions back in the days..). The host saw the rapid population growth of the Israelites as a real threat and hatched a plan to enslave the working populations and destroy newly born male children (sounds familiar?). Moses records that God heard the cry of His people and sent them a deliverer. Moses' dilemma, was convincing the Israelites he was authentic and had a message, from God indeed and not some other source. God introduced/revealed Himself to Moses as "I AM, WHO I AM". and The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. This of a sort served as the password and validated his mission. The Israelites put faith in God and were delivered. Today, we can experience this freedom, promise and deliverence by putting our trust in this same God, obediently following Him. He took the first step, more than 2000 years ago by sending His son to serve as a Ransom in our place. All we need do is accept His offer, repent of our sins and follow Him! Permit me borrow this line from David Roper.." There is One who is never wrong and who will never lead us astray: our Lord Jesus. We must hear Him!" Grateful, Inno ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- www.associate.com/groups/practical for messages on being Practical. Four Ways Our Culture Is Brainwashing Us
Four Ways Our Culture Is Brainwashing Us
Forces in our culture want to rip the foundations of Christian faith right out from under America. Here are four lies we must challenge.
This past week I spent four days preaching at Emmanuel College, a Christian liberal arts school in northeast Georgia. I love speaking to college students because they are spiritually hungry, they love passionate worship and I don't have to wear a tie.
| "We must start preaching about hell again instead of worrying about who might leave our church or how it might affect our TV ratings." |
1. Hell does not exist. Jesus preached about hell more than anyone in the Bible. His words dripped with love, but He didn't soft-pedal when addressing the eternal consequences of sin. When He began His ministry, he read from the book of Isaiah, announcing that He had come not only to "proclaim the favorable year of the Lord" but also "the day of vengeance of our God" (Is. 61:2, NASB).

Encounter
| Waoh time flies! When I meditate on the significance of Christmas,(in the light of a few people who met Jesus), a few things came up that I'd like to share with you this season. 1. Paul The Apostle. An educated, religious leader who had dual nationality (Jew-Roman). He seemed to have it all! His ENCOUNTER with Jesus is recorded in the book of ACTs. Apart from the name change (Saul to Paul), he became an outspoken disciple of the one whose followers he previously wanted to destroy. Many of his mates stayed in their position (corrupt religious leaders with no power to live-out the truth), but Paul moved on. His encounter with Jesus changed his life forever. 2. Nicodemus. A respected religious leader, who possibly because of his status in society, preferred to visit Jesus by night. His ENCOUNTER with Jesus is recorded in the 3rd chapter of the book of John. Jesus showed him it didn't suffice for one to be born into the system (Jewish, christian etc), to qualify for heaven. He boldly pointed out to Nicodemus that unless a man be BORN-AGAIN, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. This second birth, He said, is a spiritual one that depends on God, rather than man's will. He left with answers that changed his life forever. 3. Susanne. Susanne is a friend who lost her husband and daughter within a year. This young mother (28) of 4 attended Church but had not had an ENCOUNTER with Jesus. Jesus showed her, He was standing at the door of her heart and knocking. She received Him and I can testify the difference in her life is real. Today she's full of joy, has experienced many of God's blessings, and has the assurance of salvation. Friend, have you had an ENCOUNTER with Jesus. Make an appointment with He who is called the King of Kings this season. Let this be a memorable Christmas for you..a one in which you ENCOUNTER the King. Let Him into your life..Paul did. A countless number of people across all works of life, persuation and faith make this decision on a daily basis. Jesus is different..and He brings the difference that positions you for dominion now and preparedness for eternity. Start 2009 with this ENCOUNTER. Love Inno |

In times like these
Hello
Hope you are keeping strong despite the times, we live in!
I generaly do not like driving at night. Here, poor visibility and nightmarish traffic is guaranteed within that period - a perfect mix for an incident!
I hired a taxi made sure I had the right note and sat quietly taking in the sounds and cool of the night. The 45 minutes ride was over and the driver demanded his due. confidently, I pulled out the note from my pocket and waited for change. I began getting concerned as I saw him fumble the note, poke it under his torch light then examined it some more. I tried to protest but he simply handed me back the money and drove off without a statement! At that period in the night, he probably thought I was one of the 'men of the underworld'!
I was embarassed. All through I knew the note I had in hand was 100% authentic. Someone had given me a fake note which I had confidently carried around with me. On closer examination, that is when I discovered it was just a plain old fake counterfeit!
Are you living on 'fake' hopes?
It is a miserable thing indeed to put one's hope/trust in, knowledge, money, eductaion, connections, nothig, popularity, self etc. At the end of our individual journeys on Earth, the real value of these will be seen. Emptiness.
Jesus said, "I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE". Someday, we will each be required to give an account on how we applied this statement. News Headlines in the last month depicts a world in the process of crumbling (financial crisis, extreme child(ren) abuse, senseless murders, floods, wars, secterian/religious violence etc). The Life can only add value to yours but first, you need to let Jesus live in you and through you.
...and if you've done so already what about a review of your life as December kicks in!
All the best in HIM.

Sad..and ODE to Peter
To a Friend...
I had just left work and was feeling really tired. As i checked my phone for missed calls, my brain was refusing to process the information my eyes were communicating!
'Peter..dead..no...' I thought. I leaned on the car, couldn't believe the sms my brother had sent to me from SA. I decided to call back. He confirmed! I was devastated. Quickly I relayed the sad news to a few of my acquanitances who had come to know this getleman through me. As my family met for prayers that night, I couldn't help the tears.I had lost a friend. He was one of the casualties involved in an accident that claimed 3 lives!
You may have been hit by an incident of similar gravity recently. We can take solace in the promises of God for victory in Jesus when we understand that he has the keys of death and hades!
Revelation 1:18 "I (Jesus) was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades."
Please pray for the widow and kids (3 girls) of Peter Ngum Ngalla who died in a tragic accident on Monday 10 November in South Africa. That our good God should comfort them and provide their every need.
For Practical,
Inno
